Latest Button Finds

Morning all! Hope you are having better weather than us: it is heavy rain and grey skies here :(

Here are the latest buttons to inspire your sewing, knitting and craft projects:-

These lovely ceramic (porcelain) buttons are made by Nicky of Njoy. They are realistic flower shapes with a subtle glaze of pinky brown. They cost £2.65 for eight buttons.

These unusual buttons are made entirely from plastic to imitate an antler base mounted with metal escutcheon. The motif on the front is an acorn with oak leaves. They are thought to date to the late 20th century. The buttons cost £5.00 for seven buttons.

These metal buttons with paperweight glass centres are something for the collectors. The glass centrepieces have a bed of what looks like chips of shell (Mother-of-Pearl) surmounted by a glass latticework in green or black, decorated with glitter. A clear glass dome protects the decorative base. The metalwork is two-piece with an inserted loop shank. They probably date to the late 19th century. The buttons cost $30.00 for five buttons. (Approx £19.00).
