Vintage Cycling Touring Routes Wales

 The Author of the cycling Touring Guides  Harold Briercliffe was born in Rochdale in 1910.
The series was a spin off from the magazine Cycling (now published as cycling weekly).
In 2010 Clare Balding presented a BBC TV series that retracted some of Briercliffe's routes.  as a result of the series 3 of his books (North, South and Central) were republished by Batsford Books in 2012.  with additions by Mark Jarman and sustrans indicating alternative routes to avoid heavy traffic.
