Vintage Buttons and Silver Cloak Closure

Morning everyone! Here are some of the latest items added to Love Buttons HQ.

First up is a mini-collection of beautiful shell/smoky pearl buttons. They one in the centre is my favourite: it is really thick and chunky with carved areas showing the pink and green iridescence of the shell beautifully. This set of six buttons costs £18.00.

Next is this charming silver cloak closure/fastener. I believe that it has been made from two antique silver peasant buttons (perhaps Dutch or German in origin, judging by the designs). The buttons have a rope edge border soldered to the edge of the disk, which is normally found in 18th century buttons. The shanks and links look to be later in date (20th century) and bear the lion (sterling) hallmark in three places. This collectable piece costs £25.

Last, but not least, are this stunning set of three vintage bakelite buttons. They are carved into stylised square flower shapes and have inserted metal loop shanks. The set of three buttons costs £20.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend, folks!
