Morning all! I hope you are enjoying the Bank Holiday weekend :)
Here are a small sample of the latest buttons added to Love Buttons HQ...
This first assortment contains lots of pretty vintage flower-style buttons. They look lovely added as small clusters to handmade bags, purses, sachets, cushions etc. This assortment is now sold - sorry! I have another assortment in darker colours available here.
This amazing and collectable button dates from circa 1960s/1970s. It is highly sculpted from translucent brown plastic. French couturier buttons are generally produced as a 'cottage industry' in small quantities for the couture dress trade or commercial market. The designs are sculpted by hand in soft plastic using a hot tool. This particular piece was part of the stock of a French gentleman who used to sell these buttons in a market in France over 30 years ago. This buttons costs £10.
Finally, a beautiful pressed glass button, in the style of Bimini (although not made by that company). The button is roughly oval in shape, with a pattern of raised ridges along the centre (rather like a toast rack). The reverse is coated with gold lustre and has a brass plate with loop shank. This button costs £3.50.
